REVIEWS
by John ‘Bo Bo’ Bollenberg - STAGE Mag# 45- 1999 Belgium & Holland
Spread over three years ('91 - '95 and '97), the Argentinian multi-instrumentalist Bruno Sanfilippo released three albums.
These have now been released on CD through the ad21music label, a transfer which has spectaculary given a big advantage what the
beauty and fragility of the music is concerned. I think it’s too easy to call Bruno’s music ‘new age’ because his music is too varied,
too well-considered, too beautiful.
Listen to the track ‘Seven lakes’ on the album ‘Sons of the Light’ and you know what I mean.
Especially beautiful is ‘White wind’ with the acoustic guitar of Jorge Alvarado against a wall of strings.
On his second album ‘The new kingdom’, Sanfilippo follows a ‘dreamy’ direction.
Listen to ‘Argentum’ as one of the prime examples and with a strong Vangelis feel all around.
By adding violin and flute, a song like ‘The sacred gift’ even shows off some Celtic influences.
On his third album ‘Solemnis’, Sanfilippo no longer uses guestmusicians in order to deliver a full solo composition which can
easily compete with the best film soundtracks.
The very rich titlesong sounds as Bruno’s own ‘Bolero’ ! On all of these albums Bruno Sanfilippo proves to be an outstanding talent with
a strong love for classical themes.
The sober yet well considered use of certain sounds delivers a unique ‘soundscape’ with which he might compete against the very
best of the genre. In all: three outstanding releases and a man to watch out for.

Sons of the Light was recorded from June to July 1991 and newly released in 1998.
The composer, the Argentiniean Bruno Sanfilippo, offers us a very inspired work, full of classical influences and best defined as new instrumental music/new age. As always, he plays keyboards, samplers and synthesizers, with Vanesa Tomas (vocal treatments), Jorge Alvarado (acoustic guitar) and Gato Urbanski (electric violin) contributing also to the album. It contains 10 pieces with beautiful melodies that range from
classical romanticism to popular music.

by Hugo Basile - MITHOS Magazine #4 - 1998 Argentina
Although it is not massively admitted, music with universal basis reaches a great number
of people in our country. But the most sold albums are those by foreign authors.
Argentina has excellent composers, as Bruno Sanfilippo, who has an important independent production with great musical quality.
"Sons of the Light", "The New Kingdom" and "Solemnis" are a clear proof of what we assert:
an exellent composition based on deep themes, high recording quality and the satisfaction of counting on musician as Bruno Sanfilippo.
